Transportation in Mykonos
"Mykonos is a popular vacation destination known for its beautiful beaches, vibrant nightlife, and charming windmills. If you're planning a trip to this Greek island, it's important to consider your transportation options to ensure you can fully experience all that Mykonos has to offer.
One option for getting around Mykonos is the local bus system. Buses run frequently between different parts of the island and are a relatively inexpensive way to get around. Taxis are also readily available, and can be a convenient choice for those in a hurry or with a lot of luggage.
Shuttle service is another good option, especially if all of you want to drink etc. They cost around 70 euros per transfer for up to 12 people. They operate on a 40 minutes call basis. We have a transfer company that we cooperate and we trust, so we could arrange the transfers with them.
For those who want more flexibility and independence, car rental is another option. Keep in mind that traffic can be heavy in Mykonos during the high season, and parking can be limited in some areas. Alternatively, you might consider renting a bicycle or scooter, which can be a fun and eco-friendly way to explore the island while avoiding traffic.
No matter which transportation option you choose, it's important to plan ahead to ensure you have a smooth and enjoyable trip to Mykonos. Whether you're looking to relax on the beach, experience the island's vibrant nightlife, or explore the many cultural and historical sites, Mykonos has something for everyone."
